2020 Chevy Blazer Claims Best Mid-Size SUV Title in This Year’s APEAL Study

J.D. Power recently named the 2020 Chevy Blazer the best mid-size SUV as part of this year’s APEAL Study. The J.D. Power APEAL (or Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout) Study helps customers find the right vehicle by rating 37 attributes, from luxury and comfort to acceleration. Don’t just take our word for it — the Blazer is the ideal vehicle for a wide range of drivers.

In order to perform the study, J.D. Power evaluates vehicles based on customer satisfaction over the first 90 days of ownership. For the 2020 study, the brand considered feedback from over 87,000 people who owned a 2020 Blazer. Beating out competitors such as the Nissan Murano and Hyundai Santa Fe, the Chevy Blazer scored particularly well thanks to its exterior design, sporty RS trim level, towing capabilities, versatile seating, and spacious cargo area.

“Purchasing the ‘right’ vehicle is influenced by a variety of factors, depending on each buyer’s specific tastes, wants and needs,” said Dave Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power. “The APEAL Study measures an owner’s emotional attachment to their new vehicle and in what areas that vehicle may not be delivering on all of the positive experiences that were hoped for.”

The Chevy Blazer comes with several features to set it apart, including the exterior, which borrows design cues from the Chevy Camaro, and up to 4,500 pounds in maximum towing. This model also has available leather trim, and the RS has black and red accents and a bold mesh grille design. Plus, with over 64 cubic feet of cargo volume and an adjustable cargo fence, you’ll always have enough space.

OnStar Guardian App Expands OnStar Services

For years, the OnStar suite of services has been a staple of the safety offerings from GM. Now, the automaker is taking this offering to the next level with the OnStar Guardian app.

OnStar Guardian, which can be downloaded by you and up to seven family members with the purchase of a compatible GM model. It enables you to access all of the services OnStar has via the convenience of your mobile device. This means that OnStar is no longer constrained to the cabin of your vehicle when it comes to providing you with assistance.

“OnStar Guardian reimagines what it means to have OnStar protection – it’s no longer a technology that is solely tied to the vehicle. This app helps OnStar members and their loved ones be safe out there using the power of OnStar, no matter what vehicle they are in,” said Jeff Haase, head of OnStar Guardian.

With OnStar Guardian, you can reach out to an OnStar advisor 24 hours a day. If need be, this advisor can reach out to emergency services and send them your way. They can also help you with acquiring roadside assistance in the scenario of a crash, flat tire, or dead battery.

If you’d like to know more about the services that OnStar or other GM technologies offer, contact us at Curry Auto Center. We’re here to make sure you get the most out of your GM vehicle.

5-Star Safety Rating for the 2021 Buick Encore

Buick prioritizes your family’s safety as much as you do, as evidenced by the 2021 Buick Encore model’s recent achievement. It earned a 5-Star Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The compact SUV passed each test administered by the NHTSA with flying colors. The 2021 Encore received five stars in the following tests: Frontal Crash Test, Side Barrier Crash Test, and Side Pole Crash Test.

The 2021 Buick Encore received four stars in the Rollover Crash Test, which is common for SUVS due to their height. The 2021 Encore still received an overall score of five stars, cementing itself as a safety-first vehicle.

Many expected the Encore GX to render the basic Buick Encore irrelevant, but despite its smaller stature, the original Encore still holds its own in the automaker’s SUV lineup. Customers gravitate toward its design, feel, technology, and versatility. And the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2021 Buick Encore a passing grade, further solidifying the compact SUV’s safe status.
