Buick Improved in Overall Quality According to New J.D. Power Study



Over the past few years, Buick has made updates to popular SUVs, like the Buick Envision. With its recent changes, Buick improved in overall quality, as demonstrated by J.D. Power’s latest quality study, and outshined other automakers.

There’s no doubt that virtually all automakers have made steady improvements in areas, such as connectivity and driver-assistive safety features. Buick, in particular, has added some impressive technology features to the newest models in its lineups. However, while new connectivity technology is a great thing, traditional vehicle functions are still important to the overall vehicle quality. With its higher J.D. Power ranking, Buick is proving that its vehicles have a great balance between innovative tech and dependable functionality.

The J.D. Power study is based on surveys given to new vehicle lessees or owners, who have had their vehicles for 90 days. The study asked drivers 233 questions in eight different categories and covered everything from minor problems, like Bluetooth® connectivity, to major problems, like powertrain issues.

J.D. Power found that, on average, real drivers reported 93 problems in every 100 vehicles. Buick drivers reported fewer overall problems than the average, with drivers finding only 92 problems in every 100 vehicles.

Notably, Buick saw a large improvement in overall quality while many competitors didn’t see much of a change in quality. Buick earned the 11th place overall, which is much higher than its 16th placement previously.

The Marketplace app in new Buick models will now make dining out easier with the addition of Yelp Reservations.

The Marketplace app is a game-changing, useful tool now included in new GM infotainment systems. It makes time-consuming roadside purchases faster and easier by allowing you to shop from within your car. With the Marketplace app, you can use your vehicle’s infotainment display to make purchases such as gas and coffee from the comfort of your driver’s seat.

The Marketplace already offers a long list of participating merchants, including a number of gas stations and restaurants. With the addition of Yelp Reservations, the list of venues available from your vehicles has expanded even more. With just a few taps on its infotainment display, Buick Marketplace can find an appropriate restaurant and book your table through Yelp.

A variety of customizable search options will help you narrow down your dining destination by search area and cuisine type. It can even provide ratings for the venue from Yelp’s massive repository of customer reviews. Once you’ve found the perfect dining location, simply select the details for the reservation, and the Marketplace app takes care of the rest.

Follow your Buick’s navigation to your destination, where your reserved table will be waiting for you. If you have special requests, or if you just prefer talk in person, the Marketplace app and Yelp can connect you directly to the restaurant’s phone number.
