Driving on Halloween

Halloween is a fun holiday to celebrate, but it can also be a dangerous time to drive since children are trick or treating. Follow these tips to help ensure safe driving on Halloween.

Turn on your headlights

Residential streets are filled with children walking from house to house and potentially crossing the streets in search of candy. Keep your headlights on at all times of the day to allow you to see the people around you and allow children to better notice your vehicle.

Drive under the speed limit

Drive slower than the posted speed limit during Halloween, especially when you drive in neighborhoods. Children can quickly cross streets without much warning, so drive slow to increase your response time and stop when necessary.

Don’t pass stopped vehicles

Vehicles stopped on the sides of streets are likely dropping off or picking up children. Do not pass a vehicle if you see anyone near it, and be sure to give the vehicle ample time before you attempt to pass it.

Alert law enforcement

If you see a reckless or drunk driver, immediately alert law enforcement. Try to catch the vehicle’s license plate or its model and color if you can. We at Curry Auto Center wish you and your family a safe drive on Halloween. Before heading out, stop by our dealership for any necessary service.
